Thermodynamic modeling for the interface, characterization by HRTEM and
Aberration-corrected STEM/HRTEM, EELS and EDS to reveal the atomic
configuration and chemistry on the interface, interfacial complexions (a.k.a.
interfacial phases) and the construction of interfacial complexion diagrams. Hu
is also interested in fabrication of nanocrystalline metals via severe plastic
deformation, deformation mechanims, precipitation behavior in alloys, micro-
and nano-mechanics.
